QR Gen is designed to be private by default. We don't require accounts, and QR codes made in the website editor are generated entirely in your browser. Analytics events contain product metadata, never the content you enter.
We use PostHog (EU-hosted) for anonymous, aggregated usage analytics. This helps us understand which features are used and how to improve the product. PostHog collects:
No personal identifiers are collected or stored. You can block this by using any ad blocker.
If you use the "Get Link" feature, the QR code content is stored on our servers (Cloudflare KV) so the link works. A deletion token is provided so you can remove the link at any time. No personal data is attached to stored links.
When you use the QR Gen API or MCP server, we process the data you send to generate a QR code image. Payload data is not logged or stored. We record anonymous operational metadata such as endpoint, QR type, format, size range, status, and duration range. Rate limiting uses your IP address transiently and does not persist it.
We do not sell, share, or transfer data to any third party for advertising or profiling purposes. Our only third-party service is PostHog for anonymous analytics.
QR code history and preferences are stored in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time from the History tab.
